2021 – Corinne Shindelar
Corinne Shindelar is deeply rooted in the world of natural foods. She has the vision to see what is needed, the tenacity to fight for what is right, and the diplomatic skills to make it happen. From the beginning of her career, she took to the food cooperative community out of her passion for providing quality natural products to her local community and a desire to make a positive impact on the global community. Her journey in the cooperative world led to managing River Market Food Co-op in Stillwater, MN, sparking her desire to lead. Soon after, she co- founded National Co-op Grocers (NCG) in 1999 after recognizing the opportunity for the co-op community to take on increasing competition. Later, in 2005, Corinne started Independent Natural Food Retailers Association (INFRA) to support the independent natural grocers who had the same goal. During her time in the industry, she has served on several corporate and non-profit boards, most recently known for her work as board chair of the Non-GMO Project and Climate Collaborative. Corinne has received numerous awards, including being named NBJ’s “Most Influential Person in the Industry” and Progressive Grocers “Top Executive Woman in Grocery”. NCG and INFRA continue to thrive as pillars of the natural products industry, exceeding expectations to stay competitive in an ever- changing environment. After over 40 years in the business of leading organizations, she started All Natural Strategies. This current endeavor supports the natural products industry with leadership coaching, strategic roadmap planning, and board service. Corinne continues her mission to build and uplift communities that strengthen actions for good.
